The 12th birthday is a major one to celebrate in the Chinese culture. Once a child is 12 years old, he/she is seen as an old, mature enough person to make decisions and take responsibilities for his/her decisions and actions. Our dear son turned 12 this year, and his uncle shipped him the big lantern to congratulate him. His grandpa painted him a Chinese drawing with dad's poem in it. Dad wrote him a poem and made him his favorite dish on his birthday.

Chinese New Year 2016!
The Chinese New Year was celebrated by colorful house decorations, singing, and lots of yummy food! Pearl did both singing and piano playing while brother took an important test one day before the new year, on the party day. It was a perfect time to celebrate this major event together. I even got a second prize during the party lottery.
Christmas!
